What this is about
BalduursGATE operational concept – not a game mechanic. The roles on this page are a recommendation for organising our crew. Star Citizen does not know them as classes or abilities, and they change nothing in game.
The role model is the basis for later: Academy → Mission Control → operation → COMMS → Stream Deck.
The roles
- TEAM LEAD – leads the group, sets direction and pace, keeps outside radio contact.
- RIFLE – carries the main share of the firefight.
- MEDIC – looks after the wounded; uses the medical functions from Medical – first aid in the field.
- SUPPORT – carries ammunition, utility and spare equipment.
- SECURITY – covers the rear, exits and vehicles.
The split is a crew agreement. Whether it works in an operation only the group exercise below will show.
Comms
The controls have VOIP Push To Talk, VOIP Push To Talk (Proximity only) and Cycle through audio channels.q1 Plus the BalduursGATE functions COMMS, group, rally point and MAYDAY from the client.
Later: Mission Control
Mission Control is meant to assign roles per operation and connect them to COMMS and Stream Deck. This page is the template for it – Mission Control does not exist yet.
How many players a role needs and which roles prove themselves in which operation we record only after our own operations.

- Goal
- Run a small group exercise with assigned roles.
- Preparation
- Three to five players, agreed beforehand, in a safe place. Assign roles beforehand.
- Task
- Move as a group from one point to the next. Team lead gives direction over comms, medic practises the medical functions on a volunteer. Afterwards note what worked in the coordination and what did not.
