Editorial in-game review

Nobody from the editorial team has flown it in game yet. The information comes from the sources listed below.

What you will learn

  • Know the three injury levels and their treatment tier.
  • Know which body parts the game tracks separately.

Prerequisites

What this is about

An injury is more than missing health: the game remembers which body part was hit how badly, and ties to that where you can be made fully healthy again. This guide shows what is in the game dataq1 and what the game texts say about it.q2

Body parts

The game tracks six body parts separately: head, torso, left and right arm, left and right leg.q1 Each has its own health value and its own wear value. Wear rises with hits; above certain thresholds the game records an injury.

Body parts: health and wear thresholds q1From the game data · 4.10.0-hotfix (55227)

Raw values from the game data. The threshold at which the game records a minor, moderate or severe injury – without unit.

NameHealth (raw)Wear max. (raw)from minorfrom moderatefrom severe
Head30650200400600
Torso60800250500750
Left arm36350100200300
Right arm36350100200300
Left leg48400125250375
Right leg48400125250375

Numbers are game values; where the data names no unit, neither do we.

Raw values without a unit. The fact that the head’s thresholds are higher than the arms’ does not mean the head takes more – the wear value has a different maximum per body part.

The three levels

The HUD reports an injury with body part and severity. The three severities are called minor, moderate and severe injury.q2 For each one the hint text names the treatment tier a medical bed needs for full treatment:q2

Treatment tiers q1From the game data · 4.10.0-hotfix (55227)
NameInjury (game text)Bed resource (µSCU)
Tier 1Severe Injury Detected20
Tier 2Moderate Injury Detected10
Tier 3Minor Injury Detected5

Numbers are game values; where the data names no unit, neither do we.

The bed resource in the table is the consumption the game data records per treatment – 20, 10 and 5 micro SCU, and 100 for a regeneration.q1

How much damage from which weapon triggers which level is not in our data. That is why we give no hit counts.

Symptoms and treatment

Until you reach a bed: medication relieves symptoms, it does not remove the injury.q2 The game text names bleeding, being stunned by a concussion, restricted movement, muscle weakness, radiation exposure, malnutrition and overdose, among others.q2 Which agent is meant for what is in medication & agents.

In the field, remember two things: which body part, which level. That tells the crew immediately whether a clinic will do or a hospital is needed.

Next: medical beds & treatment

Checklist

  • Minor, moderate, severe – you know the matching treatment tier.
  • You know that head, torso, arms and legs are counted separately.
  • You know medication relieves symptoms while the injury remains.
