What this is about
Not every cargo contract is a hauling contract. This guide shows what the Chronist lists, how the types differ, and what the contract text actually says.q1
The contract types
Contracts in the “cargo” category – the contractor is Covalex in every case.

The contracts in the “cargo” category are the classic hauling deals: you collect a certain amount of goods at one freight elevator and deliver it to another freight elevator. The contract text explicitly says you need a ship that can haul the stated number of containers.q1

Delivery jobs are smaller: usually one package that fits in your personal inventory. They run through the same contractors but need no cargo grid.q1
Reading the contract
Four details decide whether the contract suits you:
- Goods – what is being transported.
- Amount – how many containers. That is the number to hold against your cargo grid.
- Pickup – where the freight elevator with the goods is.
- Destination – where they have to go.
Several destinations
There are contracts with several pickup points and one destination – recognisable in the Chronist by names such as “multi2tosingle”.q1 Plan the order in advance: what goes in last comes out first.
