OBS overlays

Seven overlays for your stream – four for the play styles, plus Board Comms for everything, the original with its familiar look and the glass pane from BalduursGATE. They pull live whatever the crew reports through BalduursGATE: who is out there, casualties, distress calls, finds, chapters. What nobody reports stays empty – nothing is made up. The background is transparent, the center stays free for the game.

Combat Comms

PvP · Dogfight

Squadron in action, casualty reports from the last two hours, hot zones and a combat level from “Quiet” to “Engaged”. A crew MAYDAY appears at the top center.

Shows the current track on 128.2 PvP Combat.

Chronicle of the Verse

Roleplay

The current chapter as a lower third with location, phase and game master, the groups that have formed and rotating quotes from the logbook. Kept calm – the center belongs to the scene.

Shows the current track on 128.10 RP-Funk.

Output Report

Mining · Salvage · Crafting

Mined resources and salvage from the last 24 hours, who is on shift in which ship, the crew’s blueprints and a shift clock from the start of the stream.

Shows the current track on 128.1 Mining Ops.
Preview of the “Rescue Dispatch” overlay Sample data

Rescue Dispatch

Medical

A distress call comes before everything else – with location and a running clock. Plus casualties from the last two hours, the responders, collected MedPens and the most dangerous places.

Shows the current track on 128.3 Lounge.

Board Comms

All-rounder · Command Net

The successor of the old Command Center overlay: a situation map with orbits and the crew at their planets, a comms log, the current mission with its objectives, a MAYDAY banner and a status bar with RSI status, crew, missions and radio.

Shows the current track on 128.0 Radio Balduur.

Board Comms Classic

The original

The previous Command Center overlay with its familiar look – now also freely arrangeable and resizable. The old address /static/overlay.html keeps working unchanged.

Glass pane

BalduursGATE / Roleplay

Director and RP messages from BalduursGATE right in your stream – in the look of the glass pane over Star Citizen. Only what the director explicitly released for the stream when sending is shown.

Set up in OBS
  1. Click Copy on one of the overlays above.
  2. In OBS under Sources click +Browser and give it a name.
  3. Paste the address into URL and enter width 1920 and height 1080. OBS’s custom CSS can stay – it makes the background transparent anyway.
  4. Place the source above your game capture. Done – no chroma key needed.
  5. After an update OBS sometimes still shows the old version: select the source → Refresh.
Arrange the panels yourself

Every panel can be moved freely, made bigger or smaller, or hidden – to fit your game view and your camera. The layout then lives in the address, there is nothing to save anywhere.

  1. Click Arrange on the overlay you want – it opens with sample data and a grid.
  2. Drag panels with the mouse, change their size with the mouse wheel, double-click to hide and show them. Arrow keys nudge precisely, with Shift in steps of ten; Alt turns off the grid.
  3. Click Adresse kopieren (copy address) at the top and paste that address into the OBS browser source. Done.

Panels in the lower half grow upwards, panels on the right grow to the left – so a list at the bottom left never runs off the screen. “Zurücksetzen” (reset) restores the original layout.

Options for the address
?demo=1Sample data instead of live – for setting up when nobody is flying.
?chroma=gruenGreen instead of transparent background, for software that can’t handle transparency (also ?chroma=magenta).
?lage=…Your own layout. Created automatically while arranging – don’t write it by hand.
?radio=pvpBoard Comms only: a different station in the status bar – mining, pvp, lounge, grimhex, hardstyle, quantum, rp-funk …
?system=pyroBoard Comms only: pin the situation map to one system (stanton, pyro, nyx) instead of wherever most of the crew is.
?event=17Glass pane only: only released messages of this event (also ?gruppe=<id> or ?person=<handle>). ?mayday=0 or ?status=0 hides the MAYDAY or the status card.
?crew=…Show a different crew. The default is the Old Mens Club.

Combine several options with &, for example ?demo=1&chroma=gruen. The data comes from the client – without BalduursGATE your own name stays out.
