The Pit is underground bunker on Lyria in the Stanton system. It sits at 66.3 degrees noerdlich latitude and 49.1 degrees longitude. You can quantum straight to it.

Day and night on Lyria

A full day on Lyria lasts 6 hours 26 minutes, and roughly half of that is daylight. In Stanton and Pyro every body lies in one plane with no axial tilt — so there are no seasons, and the daylight phase is the same length everywhere. The directory below works out in real time when the sun is up at The Pit.

Approach

The nearest quantum point on Lyria is Shubin Mining Facility SAL-5. From there it is 44.5 km on the shortest route (great circle) or 44.5 km on a fixed compass heading of 25.8 degrees. At 250 m/s and 2 km altitude that works out to roughly 3 minutes of flight time. The great circle is shorter but needs constant correction; on the rhumb line you hold one heading.
