Day and night on Daymar

A full day on Daymar lasts 2 hours 29 minutes, and roughly half of that is daylight. In Stanton and Pyro every body lies in one plane with no axial tilt — so there are no seasons, and the daylight phase is the same length everywhere. The directory below works out in real time when the sun is up at Attritus PAF-I.

Approach

The nearest quantum point on Daymar is The Garden. From there it is 133.2 km on the shortest route (great circle) or 133.8 km on a fixed compass heading of 325.4 degrees. At 250 m/s and 2 km altitude that works out to roughly 9 minutes of flight time. The great circle is shorter but needs constant correction; on the rhumb line you hold one heading.
